PrivyFeed (iOS)

Private Local AI RSS Reader for iPhone & iPad

Overview

PrivyFeed brings private RSS reading and optional local AI to iPhone and iPad. Subscribe to sources, organize feeds, summarize articles, and ask questions through a local Ollama endpoint while keeping reading data on your device or private network.

Features

  • Read & Organize — Subscribe to any RSS/Atom feed, manage inboxes, groups, and OPML import/export.
  • Local AI Summaries — Connect to Ollama on your iPhone, Mac, or home server to summarize articles in your preferred language.
  • Chat with Your Feeds — Ask questions about your feeds. Semantic search finds relevant chunks and your local model answers.
  • Privacy First — All processing happens locally. Embeddings and indexes are stored on your device (SQLite).
  • No Accounts Needed — Start reading right away. No third-party AI APIs required.

Advantages

PrivyFeed does not require a hosted reading account, cloud AI service, or third-party tracking layer. Your RSS library, indexes, and AI requests stay within the device and the local endpoint you configure.

Benefits

Keep up with subscriptions from mobile without sending article context to a remote summarizer. You can summarize, search, and ask questions about feeds while retaining control over the model and network path.

Requirements

  • iOS 17.0 or later (iPhone and iPad)
  • Ollama — A running instance on your local network (e.g., Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi) accessible from your iOS device, or run locally. Download at ollama.ai
